Three States.
How TopHawks built a multi-state field-sales recruitment engine for Orient Beverages Limited, fulfilling a 100-position FMCG manpower mandate across West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand.
How did TopHawks fulfil 100 FMCG sales vacancies in 40 days?
TopHawks combined a proprietary FMCG candidate pool, multi-channel recruitment, district-level sourcing, local recruitment teams, structured internal screening and client interview coordination to fulfil a complex 100-position field-sales requirement across three states.

This was not a conventional bulk-recruitment assignment
The requirement combined scale, specialised FMCG experience, geographical dispersion and a compressed hiring deadline.
Volume
100 positions had to be fulfilled simultaneously rather than through a conventional one-by-one recruitment cycle.
Geography
The requirement spanned West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand, including smaller towns and difficult-to-fill territories.
Candidate quality
The mandate required relevant FMCG/beverage and General Trade experience rather than generic sales candidates.
Segment complexity
Recruitment covered General Trade, HoReCa and the 20-litre segment, requiring territory-appropriate candidate sourcing.
Deadline
The recruitment engine had to generate qualified candidates quickly enough to complete the mandate within 40 days.
Candidate availability
Compensation constraints, notice periods and local candidate availability created additional joining and conversion challenges.
A multi-channel sourcing architecture built for speed and geography
Instead of depending on a single recruitment source, TopHawks activated multiple candidate acquisition channels simultaneously.
Proprietary candidate ecosystem
Existing FMCG candidate pools, proprietary candidate database and candidate reactivation created an immediate starting pool of relevant profiles.
Digital recruitment channels
Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed, Apna, WorkIndia and digital advertising expanded candidate reach across multiple geographies.
Local recruitment teams
City-wise sourcing, district-wise recruiters and local field recruitment teams were used to address distributed territories.
Direct candidate activation
Telecalling, WhatsApp recruitment campaigns, automated calling and WhatsApp automation increased recruitment touchpoints.
Referral network
Employee referrals and existing candidate relationships created additional sourcing channels for difficult territories.
AI-assisted screening
AI-based screening and structured recruitment workflows helped the team manage high candidate volumes while maintaining screening discipline.
6,250 profiles entered the recruitment engine
Candidate quality was progressively filtered through sourcing, screening, shortlisting, internal assessment and final client interviews before offer release.
Recruitment was managed as a controlled delivery programme
The objective was not simply to generate applications. The recruitment process was structured around qualified candidate movement toward offer acceptance and joining.
Requirement mobilisation
Role specifications, geography, FMCG experience requirements, trade segments and candidate eligibility parameters were translated into sourcing requirements.
Multi-channel sourcing
Proprietary databases, job portals, local recruiters, referrals, telecalling and WhatsApp recruitment were activated in parallel.
Internal screening
Candidates were filtered through two levels of TopHawks internal screening followed by an online assessment.
Client interview stage
265 candidates progressed to final client interviews after TopHawks' internal screening process.
Offer conversion
121 offer letters were released against the requirement, creating sufficient conversion headroom to account for candidate availability and notice-period dynamics.
Mandate fulfilment
All 100 positions were fulfilled within 40 days. More than 70% of the selected candidates had already joined, while the remaining accepted candidates were serving notice periods.
Recruitment was designed around territories, not just job titles
Multi-state field-sales recruitment requires a localised sourcing approach. TopHawks combined state-level recruitment management with city and district-level sourcing.
West Bengal
The original deployment plan covered 50 positions across a distributed network of districts and towns including Hooghly, Howrah, Midnapur, Nadia, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Purulia, Jhargram and East Bardhaman.
The requirement included General Trade, HoReCa and 20-litre positions.
Bihar & Jharkhand
The wider mandate added another 50 positions across Bihar and Jharkhand, requiring the recruitment engine to extend beyond conventional metropolitan candidate pools.
Local recruitment, territory-led sourcing and candidate reactivation were therefore important components of the multi-state strategy.
Recruitment was connected to field-force execution
The project architecture incorporated field-force technology requirements alongside recruitment, enabling the deployed workforce to operate within the client's field-sales environment.
Breeze SFA
GPS-based attendance and field-sales activity requirements were incorporated into the deployment model.
TracknTrain
TracknTrain supports field-force management, geo-tagged beat tracking and operational visibility.
Productivity visibility
Daily call reporting and productivity dashboards provide a structured framework for monitoring field execution.
The mandate was fulfilled within 40 days
The recruitment programme delivered the required 100-position mandate while maintaining a structured candidate funnel and generating sufficient offer volume to manage joining timelines.
The operating principles behind the result
Recruitment at scale
The team treated the mandate as a workforce-delivery programme rather than a collection of independent vacancies.
Multiple sourcing channels
Candidate acquisition was distributed across databases, portals, referrals, local teams, telecalling and digital channels.
Geography-led hiring
District and city-level recruitment helped address smaller markets and difficult-to-fill field-sales territories.
Quality before client submission
Two internal screening stages and an online assessment were completed before candidates reached the final client interview.
Offer-volume management
121 offers were released to fulfil a 100-position requirement, helping account for notice periods and candidate conversion.
Execution discipline
Recruitment activity was managed against a defined 40-day delivery objective rather than an open-ended hiring cycle.
